The Bicycle Wheel offers a full line of services designed to keep your bike safe and reliable. We are equipped to work on all makes and models regardless of whether you purchased your bike from us originally.

 

The most common type of service we perform is a tune-up (see descriptions below), but we can perform just about any other service on your bike - except welding - that you can imagine and do so at a reasonable hourly charge.

 

Estimates are always free so you know exactly what a particular repair will cost before you leave the store. We are an open shop and go over your bike with you before you leave so that if you need additional parts or services, we can show you on the spot. Our policy is to call you anytime there is a possibility of going over the estimate so that there are no surprises when you pick up your bike.

 

And, all of our work is guaranteed, so you can feel confident that the job will be done right and that you will be satisfied.

 

Mechanic Services

 

Basic Tune-up - $69.99

Includes the Following:

  • Adjust gears and brakes
  • Inflate tires to proper pressure
  • Adjust all bearing surfaces and bolts to the proper torque
  • True (align) both wheels on the bike
  • Lubricate chain, derailleurs and all pivot points on bike with Teflon lubricant
  • Lubricate all cables with Teflon lubricant

 

Peak Performance Tune-up & Cleaning - $119.99

Includes all of the services of our Basic Tune-up Plus:

  • Complete bike wash
  • Entire drivetrain removed for degreasing in a parts washer
  • Reassembly of drivetrain at proper torque specifications

 

Bicycle Fittings

Our bicycle fit sessions are designed to maximize your cycling experience and make you more comfortable on your bike. Whether you are racing your first triathlon, training for your first Ironman distance race or simply looking to gain more comfort and efficiency on your bike, our professional fitters can get your bike dialed in to your body.

Your one-on-one session will address your personal needs. Our system uses a combination of several science-based methodologies, along with your input, to provide a practical solution for your individual needs and goals.

Please note that any medical conditions or injuries that relate to cycling should be reviewed by a medical professional prior to your fit session as diagnosing and treating medical conditions and/or injuries is beyond the scope of our fitting services.

 

Basic Bike Fitting - $50 (Free with purchase of a new road bicycle)

Our Basic Bike Fitting Service involves individual consultation with one of our experts and includes:

  • Accurately measuring your inseam to achieve a "baseline" seat height
  • Adjusting your position on your bike with the bike in an indoor trainer

 

Expert Bike Fitting - $150 (By Appointment Only)

Our Expert Bike Fitting Service involves individual consultation with one of our experts and includes:

  • A comprehensive interview to establish your needs and goals. We address your athletic history, past or present injuries, cycling strengths, training regimen and your specific concerns regarding comfort and efficiency
  • A flexibility and range-of-motion assessment
  • Accurately measuring your inseam to achieve a "baseline" seat height
  • Complete evaluation of your position with your bike in an indoor trainer
  • Individualized instructions to improve your pedaling efficiency and form on the bike
  • Guidance on the proper selection of clothing/equipment to improve your cycling experience
  • Teaching you how to use your clipless pedals along with properly adjusting your cleats
  • Guidance on how to use your gears most effectively
  • A follow-up evaluation after you have had time to adjust to your new position
